A Dog Radio Show to Start the Year Right

A Dog Radio Show to Start the Year Right

Do your New Year's resolutions include learning more about how dogs think and feel so you can improve and strengthen your relationship with your own pup?

If not, add it to your list and check out the informative and interesting radio program called "Dogs Themselves." The show aired as three one-hour radio broadcasts on the Canadian Broadcasting Company (CBC) this past December, and it's now available for your online listening pleasure or to download and listen on the go.

You’ll hear host Max Hall in conversation with notable experts in the field of dog behavior and cognition. Hear from cognitive scientist and author of Inside of a Dog: What Dogs See, Smell, and Know, Alexandra Horowitz, top experts in dog behavior and training Patricia McConnell, Jean Donaldson, Karen Pryor, researchers at the University of Florida Canine Cognition Lab, Clive Wynne and Monique Udell, author Jon Katz, and more.

You’ll learn a great deal! It's only in the last 20-30 years that the focus on our fur best friends transitioned from how to ‘fix or keep a dog’ to imagining things from a dog’s perspective – for instance, what dogs see, smell and know, and how they think or act in response. Discover how dogs think and what they understand about 'their people,' hear about the evolution of wolves, and much more.

Visit the site and hit play, or download the files so you can listen on your commute, or better yet, while you curl up on the couch with your dog. Then enjoy the intelligent and informative conversation about dogs – the more you know, the better you'll understand your dog and the closer you'll become. What a way to start the New Year!
